When my boyfriend and I started dating, we spent tons of time getting to know one another, often immersed in deep conversations, movie marathons, video gaming and take-out food. We began to look forward to “champagne weekends” which entailed a Friday night trip to the store for supplies {movie rentals, corned beef hash, bottle(s) of champagne} and essentially locking ourselves in together for the entire weekend. We learned the ropes of our relationship by sticking to the basics. Making breakfast. Listening to records. Reading aloud to each other. We once spent an entire Saturday playing “Viva Pinata” on the Xbox and building a virtual garden together. It was like our own personal paradise. I hope this will inspire you to stop and taste the champagne.
